Heated Cat House

We talked about the shelter I made; attached are some pictures of it. Rough dimensions are 20" wide x 30" long x 24" high. It is heated with a light bulb -- 25 to 60 watt depending on how cold the weather is. 60 watt bulb seems to maintain "indoor" temp of about 60 degrees F when the actual outdoor temp is about 10 degrees F.

Please note: if you do any electrical wiring, be sure to use "outdoor grade" and protect any plugs from moisture. I also used an aluminum pie plate between the roof and the ceramic bulb socket to reflect heat and protect the wood from potential electrical hazards. Also, remember to always unplug the cathouse before changing the bulb.

The construction is simple and only takes about 2 hours.
